TEFC's Response to Covid-19 Prevention and Containment


If you are considering a tutor for yourself or a loved one, but are hesitant due to the pandemic, read how we here at TEFC, Inc. are doing our part to ensure quality tutoring services for our clients. And, if you are thinking about going abroad to teach, now, as international borders slowly reopen, our TEFL Certificate can be a big plus. See how we are addressing the Covid-19 issue and what steps we are taking to slow the spread of this virus.



In response to the need to help prevent and contain the spread of Covid-19, we here at TEFC, Inc. are committed to providing a healthy work space. As such, we have adopted many new criteria for the safety and well-being of all our staff as well as all of our clients. Currently, we are operating most of our tutoring services mainly online. We offer tutoring through such platforms as Zoom and Skype to better assist our students. In-person tutoring requests are handled on an individual basis and require extensive screening before we can send out a live tutor for face-to-face tutoring sessions.



Additionally, for our staff that need come in person regularly, we have instituted a mandatory face-covering policy as well as offering several hand-sanitizer stations located throughout our corporate offices. We have installed plexiglass partitions around each desk area, and we utilize a portable vinyl sheeting partition to ensure any guests with appointments can visit us safely. All financial transactions are handled completely online via credit card or bank transfer to further reduce the need for person-to-person contact.



Further, although the in-person TEFL courses had been suspended until recently, we have resumed these in-class training sessions using all necessary precautions including, but not limited to, a reduction in the number of attendees permitted at each session, the use of plexiglass partitions around each desk to separate the attendees from one another, and extra plexiglass partitions around the instructor’s area as well. We have added a virtual class option for completing the 20 hour in-class training for the TEFL Certification. During the virtual classes, attendees are required to be online on specific days and at specific times. And, here again, all financial transactions are handled completely online via credit card or bank transfer.
